Who you will see

A plan, not a printout

Dt. Sara Hammoud is a clinical nutrition practice in Mar Mkhayel, Beirut. First consultations run to an hour, because the history — how you actually eat, not how you intend to — is where any usable plan comes from.

Body composition is measured rather than guessed from the scale, recent bloods are reviewed where you have them, and you leave with two or three changes written down rather than a forty-page document nobody opens.

  • Registered dietitianClinical qualification, not a weekend nutrition certificate.

  • Body composition on siteMuscle and fat measured, so progress is not judged by one number.

  • Hour-long first consultationsTime to take the history the plan is actually built from.

  • Arabic, English and FrenchSpoken in the clinic.

In numbers

Measured, then measured again

A baseline at the start and the same measurements at review, so progress is something we can see rather than something you have to feel.

The approach

Three principles that decide how a case is run

They are unremarkable principles. Following them every single time is what is not.

Principle 01

Measure before you advise

Weight on its own tells you very little. Body composition and bloods turn a plan from an opinion into something you can check against.

  • Muscle and fat separately
  • Bloods reviewed where you have them
  • A baseline to return to

Principle 02

Build from what you eat

A plan assembled from foods you already buy and already like survives contact with a real week. A template does not.

  • Your kitchen and your culture
  • Nothing banned outright
  • Two or three changes at a time

Principle 03

Plan for the part after

Maintenance is where almost everything falls apart, so it is designed in from the start rather than wished for at the end.

  • Review dates set upfront
  • Adjusted, not repeated louder
  • Habits over rules

What matters here

Six things that are not negotiable

Honest answers

Including that what you are already doing is fine, when it is.

No mystery language

You should be able to explain your own plan to someone else.

Food, not powders

Supplements get recommended when the evidence is there, and not otherwise.

Measured progress

Re-measured at review rather than judged on how the week felt.

Families taken seriously

Fussy eating handled without turning dinner into a fight.

Referral when it matters

Disordered eating and medical issues go to the right person.

Families

What parents say afterwards

Three people told us to wait. The assessment gave us an actual number and a plan the same week.
R. S.Late talker · Beirut
We were told to stop speaking Arabic at home. Here we were told the opposite, with the research to back it.
N. A.Bilingual · Saida
Her teacher could not understand her. Six months later she is reading aloud in class.
M. H.Speech sounds · Tripoli
The online sessions meant we did not have to move cities. It worked exactly like being in the room.
L. D.Online · abroad
I was given strategies for the car and for bath time, not a worksheet. That is what changed things.
Y. K.Parent coaching · Beirut
She explained the stutter to us so clearly that we stopped panicking — and that alone helped him.
